Meet Melonie!

Aug 4th

Hello, Memory Bound friends!

At Memory Bound we believe we have the most talented, creative, and fun staff and we thought it would be fun for you all to get to know our little MB family a bit better! This week we are going to introduce you to our newest staff member, Melonie!

Here are some of Melonie’s favorite crafting projects — super cute scrapbook pages and adorable cards!

Melonie also has an amazing crafting space! What a great area to work in…plenty of room for all of her supplies and lots of space to spread out while crafting!

And now here’s a bit more from Melonie! Enjoy!

Hi, everyone!

I am from Ames, Iowa and have lived in Huxley now for the past 23 years. My husband Todd and I were high school sweethearts and have been married for 27 years this August. (Happy anniversary, Melonie!!!) We have 2 beautiful daughters. Shelbi is 24 years old and Megan is 21. I love spending time with my family and friends, golfing, softball, sports in general and most of all scrapbooking, card making, and crafting in general! My daughter Megan just got engaged a few weeks ago, so now we’re in the planning stages of a September 2017 wedding…WOW! Working at Memory Bound will definitely come in handy now! 🙂

I am by no means an expert at any crafting technique. I know a little about a lot of things! I love card making, scrapbooking, and home decor. One of my favorite projects is making scrapbooks for gifts. A handmade blank scrapbook is such a unique and personal gift!

As for choosing a favorite crafting tool…do I have to pick just one? 🙂 I love so many and every day I work I find a new one! (We know the feeling, Melonie!!!) I especially love my Cricut, dies, and embossing folders! As for my favorite paper crafting companies, I have recently fallen in love with Bo Bunny and Taylored Expressions.

As an Ames native and ISU alum, I would say that any visitors to Iowa must take in an ISU sporting event. The ISU fans are some of the best in the country! While in Ames, a stop at Hickory Park is always a plus!

Since I’ve only started working at Memory Bound a short time ago, my favorite Memory Bound memory would have to be getting hired! I had thought of applying awhile back and then after a class one day, Jennifer said to me, “You should work here.” I responded, “If Kellie would hire me, I would!” (And Melonie, we’re so glad you took Jennifer’s advice!!!)

My favorite thing about working at Memory Bound is the people — both the customers and the ones I get to work with. Everyone is so creative and willing to share their knowledge. I still have to pinch myself to make sure that I really do work here and I’m not just dreaming!
